I assume you are referring to tech support as I'm not aware of Obihai offering a hardware warranty.

There are not a few posts here from people who have not been impressed with the quality of the support they paid for but only you can decide for yourself.

To date it has always been possible to manually obtain the latest firmware and load it to the device without needing to pay the annual fee.

I purchased a 508 through Amazon and I have the option to extend warranty for $40 per year.
