My Obitalk was updated to the 2711 firmware today (5/9/12) and now I have no dial tone.  I have rebooted the device, confirmed good connections to the phone and nothing produces a dial tone.  I tried *** and I get no response.  I can login into the web interface on the Obi device and see the config menus.  Did the firmware update foul up my device?

You might try resetting the unit to factory defaults and restoring a backup or reconfiguring the unit from scratch.

I did the reset, no dial tone.  With the phone off hook it reports on-hook.

Assuming your telephone set and its cord are operational, it sounds like your OBi croaked.  A totally unconfigured OBi at factory defaults with nothing but power and a telephone set connected to the PHONE Port should produce dialtone and be able to reach the Auto Attendant (**0).

I agree it's a door stop now, but the firmware updated caused it.  I was getting dial tone until the the update.  Can I install the older firmware to test?

Did you in anyway interrupted the firmware update while it was in progress?

Obihai says you cannot revert below v1.3, but you should be able to install any of the released v1.3's:

OBi-1-3-0-2532.fw
OBi-1-3-0-2575.fw
OBi-1-3-0-2586.fw
OBi-1-3-0-2651.fw
OBi-1-3-0-2669.fw
OBi-1-3-0-2675.fw
OBi-1-3-0-2690.fw
OBi-1-3-0-2711.fw

The update went without any errors.  Where are those downloads?

That's an inherent risk when firmware updates are pushed without your knowledge and consent.

They did exactly that.  First class service.  I sent them an email and they shipped a replacement out the next day and it arrived today.  All is back to normal now.
