Obi 1022 connected to obi network, not connecting to google voice

Just got a new OBI1022 from amazon. I set the phone's DNS settings to 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8, but I keep getting this error message: Backing Off :TCP connection to 125.207.194.173 failed

It is running 5.0.6 build 4176.1311

I've had obi products in the past but this has never happened to me before

That's old firmware. This is the best version  http://fw.obifirmware.com/OBiPhone-5-1-11-4858EX-olisom5b.fw
