Thanks for the quick reply.

I see the link you posted. If I import that configuration file would it overwrite what I have now?

In a way its a testament to how reliable my oBi device is that I set it up now over 2 years ago and never have had to mess with it in all this time so I don't want to change any of the config I did back then just for something as silly as a ringtone.

It will overwrite the tones, dial plan, time zone etc stuff.  It will not touch your service providers.

However the xml file can be opened with a text editor and it is a doddle to find the tone strings you want and one at a time copy/paste the values into the respective places in the config page in whichever of portal expert mode or local device GUI you have previously decided to use.

For examples

OBi Tone Profile A Configuration
-->
  <Object>
    <Name>VoiceService.1.VoiceProfile.1.Tone.Description.1.</Name>
    <ParameterValueStruct>
      <Name>TonePattern</Name>
      <Value>350-19,440-22;10</Value>
    </ParameterValueStruct>

 OBi Ring Profile A Configuration
-->
  <Object>
    <Name>VoiceService.1.VoiceProfile.1.Line.1.Ringer.Description.1.</Name>
    <ParameterValueStruct>
      <Name>RingName</Name>
      <Value>UK-1</Value>
    </ParameterValueStruct>
    <ParameterValueStruct>
      <Name>RingPattern</Name>
      <Value>60;(.4+.2,.4+2)</Value>
    </ParameterValueStruct>
  </Object>

Thanks...I love a doodle lol

So lets say I want all my calls from whatever provider I have that ring on phone 2 where do I find them in the expert config section? In the physical interfaces, phone 2 settings or in the Ring Settings, Ring Profile settings?
Or is it somewhere different altogether?

Oh and thank you for the help, I'm probably asking some real newbie questions.

A doddle is a completely different thing from a doodle.

The tones are what you hear from the phones earpiece. You appear to have an OBi202 with 2 phone ports.  Under Physical Interfaces you have the 2 phone ports.  Each of those has its own page.  Each page has a section "Calling Features" with the setting "ToneProfile" where you can select A or B.  Further down the main menu is "Tone Settings" with separate pages for Tone Profile A and Tone Profile B.  That is where you put eg 350-19,440-22;10 for UK/BT Dial Tone.

Ring settings determine the cadence of the phone bell or whatever noise maker is activated on an incoming call.  Under Voice Services, each SPn Service has its own page where the 3rd down line is X-RingProfile.  Choice of A or B.  Further down that same section is X_DefaultRing where you can choose from 1 to 10. Definitions of those are reached by the main menu, Ring Settings.  Scroll down past the Call Waiting Tone definitions and you will see the 10 configurable Ring Patterns where you can enter eg 60;(.4+.2,.4+2) for UK/BT ringing.
