OBi508 SIP client Connect Failed: 401 Unauthorized

(1/1)

waldo22:
Since Google Voice no longer works on the Obi508, I've been trying to use the 508 as SIP extensions to my Asterisk/FreePBX server.

I am literally trying to set up the most simple thing possible:
A SIP extenstion (ie. extension 125) with a password.

In the ObiTalk portal, I am setting the Proxy Server, Port, username (extension) and password.

I keep getting:
Code:

Connect Failed: 401 Unauthorized

No further explanation is given.

I have tested the extension with a software VoIP client using the exact same credentials and it works fine, so something's wrong with the way I'm configuring the 508.

Can someone please help me understand why I can't figure out such a simple setting?

Thanks a bunch,

-Wes

Do you have the correct SP Service X_ServProvProfile?

Do you have the correct SP Service X_ServProvProfile?

Thanks @azrobert,

I just used the "wizard" to set up a standard SIP connection, not the expert settings.

Going into the expert "Voice Services" settings for SP5 (the port in question) is set to use Profile E, and Profile E appears to have the correct settings for my SIP extension.

Code:

(under ITSP Profile E SIP)
ProxyServer pbx.mydomain.com
ProxyServerPort 5060
ProxyServerTransport
RegistrarServer
RegistrarServerPort 5060
UserAgentDomain
OutboundProxy
OutboundProxyPort 5060
X_OutboundProxyTransport

You can see that most of them are blank.

Under Voice Services -> SP5 Service -> SIP Credentials:
Code:

AuthUserName 125
AuthPassword [this is blank after I save it]
URI 125@pbx.mydomain.com
X_ContactUserID
X_EnforceRequestUserID [checked]

Am I missing anything obvious?

Thanks so much for the help!

I don't see anything wrong. Try posting your question on the DSLReports forum. They have several Asterisk experts. You don't have to register to post a question. They review all anonymous posts, so it might take awhile for your post to appear.
