Trouble connecting OBiWiFi5G to a Mesh Router

therichzone:
 my obi1022 phone connects easily to old wifi routers but won't connect to my new TP-Link Mesh router.  I'm guessing the OBiWiFi5G dongle isn't compatible with mesh routers but that's just a guess. Any advice, tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated
