I have tried to get this working again, this time I have all the devices together in one location so that I can hear what phones are ringing, etc.

I am exclusively using direct access to configure them with auto provisoning disabled on all of them.

I have set them all to unique static IP addresses and all using distinct ports.

Here is what I have.

Home  Obi110  IP 192.168.1.132 Obxxxxxx644 port 5060
Work   Obi100  IP 192.168.1.133 Obxxxxxx820 port 5061
Cabin  Obi100  IP 192.168.1.131 Obxxxxxx988 port 5064
PAP     PAP2T   IP 192.168.1.130                    port 5062 & 5063

calls out and recieves all calls no problems. It is unrelated to the others but documented to show no port or IP conflicts

Work
Dials out fine
Speed dials fine
Reaches Obi attendant fine
Incoming calls come in fine, and also forks to Cabin fine

Cabin
Dials out fine
Speed dials fine
Reaches Obi attendant fine
Incoming calls ring on PH fine
Forked called from Work go visa VG5 to pap2 fine

PAP
Rings on voice gateway from Cabin fine
Cannot dial out. Gets dial tone. After dialing number, just silence. Eventually busy.
Cannot reach Obi attendant. After dialing number, just silence.
Speed dial not expected to work.
Cannot reach other Obi boxes with **9xxxxxx644. After dialing number, just silence.

Call history of cabin shows no event as a result of dialing from line2 of PAP2

Have ruled out a dialing problem of the physical phone by switching it with the one that works fine on the PH port of Cabin.

Desired difference.
I wish to be able to dial numbers from the phone connected to line2 on the PAP.
I don't care if it uses SP2 of Cabin or Sp1 of Work

At one stage after changing the case of the PAP2 Display name to lower case, dialing worked from the PAP2 (but always rang on PH of Cabin), suggesting that the X_InboundCallRoute of Cabin was case sensitive, but currently all references to pap2 are lower case.

I suspect I have missed one setting somewhere. Looking for ideas to troubleshoot to narrow the problem down.

Edit: I initially posted the inbound call routes for Work and Cabin the wrong way round.

Dale,

Did you make the following change in the Cabin OBi?:

Voice Services -> SP1 Service -> X_UserAgentPort : 5063

Dale

Hi Ron,

no I had not, and so now I did - no change.

Must X_UserAgentPort match the main port on all of them?

Dale

Dale

i set X_UserAgentPort to 5064 and now the pap2 dials...

I will do some more testing....

Dale

the PAP2 now dials, and it rings too. I was able to use speed dials, **9xxxxx to Obion on my cell phone, **0 for the AA.  The display name of the PAP2 can also be changed to something nicer without breaking the dialing.

Thank you so much for all your help.

I think we learnt 2 things:

1) Use ID of the PAP2 SIP setting must match the case of the X_InboundCallRoute
2) In the Obi box it uses, the port and X_UserAgentPort must match

Dale

when I cancelled by ViaTalk account they informed my that they had supplied me the PAP2 box 9I thought I had it from the Sunrocket days) they are charging me 450 to keep it, or I send it back. So after all that getting the PAP2 to work I am going to buy a 4th Obi box anyway....

450 is a complete ripoff especially for something you've had for a long while.

LOL, I had to look at my keyboard on that one.  This made my day... which tells you how my day went.
