Importing Google Contacts not working properly

In the past month or so when I attempt to import Google Contacts to my 1022 phone I only get about 78 contacts received into the phone.  I have 1000+ contacts.  I used to get all of them, now less than 100.  Is there an issue with this feature or is anyone else having trouble?
