How do I set up a digital voice recorder to work with my new Obi 1062?

Hi, I legally record important business calls in Arizona as a mechanism for keeping track of conversations by phone. I used to use an Obi 200 and just graduated to a Obi 1062 which is wonderful.. and easy to set up for Google Voice.

I don't see how to add a digital recorder to the 1062. The digital recorder works when I plug into the 3.5mm port on the right side of the base if I select the headset button on the top of the phone.. but of course, I loose access to the headset.. so it works a bit!

Does anyone know how to activate the 3.5mm or one of the usb ports to record calls while I am on my handset?

Note: Six months ago I documented (by recording) an Internet company promising to extend a one year warranty to three years on a $3000 piece of equipment I bought from him. I discovered later that he failed to include it in the sales contract. Later, when I had a warranty concern, he specifically stated that he would cover the three years in writing but failed to do so. He no longer returns my calls.. I have since put up a review quoting his remarks. Recording has its place in our digital world!

One method that works with any phone is the type of microphone exemplified by https://shop.olympus.eu/en_GB/recording-dictation/accessories/tp8-telephone-pick-up and https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Microphone-Conversations-Telephone-Recording-Gold/dp/B009W4B0W2. A year or two ago I bought a similar Sony ECM-TL02 on ebay for a fraction of that official Olympus shop price.

:) Hi drgeoff, Yes. Thank you!
I have one of these devices and it works well.. Just an extra step or two and can be used on cell or obi.. And, I think one can record cell calls from apps as well.

I am hoping to tie directly into the obi1062.. Again, the 3.5mm jack can pick up voice when selecting the headset button but I am hoping to tie into the USB ports or override the headset button to allow the use of the handset while recording with the 3.5 or USB ports..

Any help/workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Voip.MS allows recording of inbound/outbound phone calls and/or a conference room you set up.

You can port your number to them if you want. Otherwise, you could buy a local number and forward your number to that one. That number can do the recording.

With Voip.Ms you are paying a slight (Recording calls has a cost of $0.0025 (0.25 cents) per minute) charge per minute. So that looks like 4 minutes of recording is 1 cent. That is a lot cheaper than a machine.

You could also have a message play that says "Calls may be recorded...", etc prior to your phone ringing.
