Hello,

I can't seem to place any outbound SIP URI calls. They don't connect.
All of my regular calls work fine.

SP3= voip.ms

Speed Dials
3.   sp3(thetestcall@sip2sip.info)

When I dial 3#, I just get dead air.

Terminal ID   PHONE1   SP3
State   trying   calling
Peer Name
Peer Number   sp3(thetestcall@sip2sip.info)   thetestcall@sip2sip.info
Start Time   12:56:58   12:56:58
Duration   00:00:08   00:00:08
Direction   Outbound   Outbound
Peer RTP Address      0.0.0.0:0
Local RTP Address      192.xx.xx.x:17004
RTP Transport      UDP
Audio Codec      tx=; rx=
RTP Packetization (ms)      tx=0; rx=0
RTP Packet Count      tx=0; rx=0
RTP Byte Count      tx=0; rx=0

I also tried SP1, which is another SIP Provider. No difference.

I just hear dead air. Any ideas?

Does this work?    sp3(music@iptel.org)  It should play music. My Sp3 is SIP (Voip.Ms)

I tried your entry. The first time it failed, the second time it worked. Perhaps I mistyped it the first time.

It rang and a female voice said "Just a moment please" and I hung up.

Within the 3 minutes prior to posting this I had first time success with speed test numbers assigned to both the sip2sip.info and iptel.org "test" URLs in the preceding posts.  Using an OBi110 with sp2 SIP registered to FreePBX.

Works fine on another OBi202 here, but it does not work fine on the one I'm having problems placing outbound SIP URI calls on.

Same problem. Basically, OBi202 sends the call, but TX and RX are 0. No packets are sent. There's no peer RTP address  (0.0.0.0).

Are you running the same firmware on both OBi202s?

Yes. Oddly, the one that does work isn't connected to Obitalk.

I found the cause. It's Trend Micro's Two-Way Intrusion Prevention System in Asus routers, and it reports a lot of threats for the ATA that wasn't working:

Type
Device Infected

Source
OBi202 LAN IP

Threat
SIP Digium Asterisk app_minivm Caller-ID Command Execution -1.1 (CVE-2017-14100)
https://helpcenter.trendmicro.com/en-us/search/?id=SIP_Obihai%20Technology,%20Inc.&q=SIP+Digium+Asterisk

Disabling Trend Micro's Two Way IPS in the Asus router makes the outbound SIP URI calls work.
