The 2182's are back on sale at Amazon. The link in the upper right of the forum works. I would have posted this last night but wanted to make sure that *I* got one ordered first :-)

I got notified by CamelCamelCamel.com of the price change. Now do I or not. I don't need another OBi2182 but it's tempting.

If you need to do some electrical work and can't find the breaker panel, simply kink the wire to stop the flow of electricity.

I bought a second one because if I decide not to use it, someone else will (I have helped numerous people get into VOIP).

When you want one and see the only ones are in the $200's you may have second thoughts. They are $269+ shipping on Ebay.

They went from 13 available a few hours ago to 8 at the moment.

Guess What!!!
The OBi2182 is now $49.99 on Amazon. I just couldn't resist. I figure it's a good investment.

That looks like a pricing error or someone dumping existing stock. There is no way that at least one business in the manufacturing to Amazon customer chain is not making a loss.

Well, I ordered one for $49.99 and should have it next week.

Here is an Amazon bargain I got last year. I got a Surveyors Tripod that I use with my Laser Lever for $0.25 plus tax for a total of 27 cents with FREE shipping.

Had to jump on it at this price even though I don't need it. With my Amazon VISA reward points my total cost was $40.96. Just could not resist at this price point.

Curse you Amazon! FOMO definitely has it's grip on me.  Undecided

Ha!  Classic.  I bought one of the on-sale OBi 200s, not needing it, so I know what you mean.  I figured that I'd end up giving it to a friend at some point.

I do wonder about that "too good to be true" price.  Look at the seller.  It's in an unlabeled industrial building (rental), and I suspect this was some sort of scavenger deal on EOL stock.  I'll be curious to learn how it works out for you two.

There are 20 left in stock. I think that when it gets down to zero, the price will go back up. Better get them while their hot.

N7AS, It would be nice if you'd get rid of that gigantic speed test graphic that you have attached to every post (in your signature).  It takes up more space than your posts themselves.

Yea I know. I tried to reduce the size with a BB Code, but without success. I think I will just get rid of it now.

Remains to be seen. When I bought mine the count went down to 19. A few minutes later it was back to 20 left in stock. Sometime later I checked again and it said 18 left. Then a few minutes later it was back to 20.

PS. Yes, it is MUCH better without the speed test graphic in your posts.

Anyone know of a wireless headset that works reliably with the OBi2182? And is a bluetooth headset still supported?

I'm a total noob when it comes to headsets. Any info greatly appreciated.

You're in luck, since I'm the headset nerd.

The phone supports hardwired 3.5mm analog headsets, RJ-9 hardwired or DECT 6.0 headsets, and Bluetooth headsets.  Pick your poison.

Any mainstream Bluetooth headset designed for mobile phones should work.  The audio quality and range aren't great, but they're inexpensive.  I'd start with that.

Professional-class headsets connect to the RJ-9 headset jack on the underside of the phone.  Desk workers typically use ones that are simply hardwired to an amplifier/base.  The more expensive version is the DECT 6.0 headset, which will work for several hundred yards and have very high quality audio.

I use GN/Jabra DECT headsets.  Here's a good article comparing DECT with Bluetooth headsets; Jabra makes both.

https://www.jabra.com/blog/dect-vs-bluetooth-how-to-choose-right-wireless-headset/

Plantronics Bluetooth headsets are also good, although I've had audio quality issues with them.

I have the mono version this Jabra headset attached to one of my two 2182s:

https://www.jabra.com/business/office-headsets/jabra-engage/jabra-engage-75#/#9556-583-125

They are insanely expensive, but you can usually find them discounted.  The Jabra Evolve 65 or 75 are cheaper and good enough for most applications.
