I still can't resist. I am going to order one more.

A journeyman electrician sent his apprentice with a 5-gallon bucket and was told to put the ends of the service drop in the bucket and fill it with volts. He was there all day.

They had 20 left in stock less than an hour ago.

It's now 7:08 pm and now they are not available.

Where did those 20 go?

They are still there but now they are listed as "renewed." Are you absolutely 100% sure the device you received is new in the box and not renewed/reconditioned??

N7AS

as far as I can tell, it is in the same box as I got with my original OBi2182 except it says Polycom on the front above the display.
I saw 3 of them on eBay Buy-It-Now for $160.00, $200.00, and $269.99 listed as Brand New.

Isn't this the same listing as before?

Yea, That's the same listing before they were listed as Unavailable.
I better go and bite another bullet for my second one.

Well? How do you like the 2182's now? :-) It sounds as though you can have a new 2182 for each new inbound call :-)

Must the Obitalk website be used to set up the Obi2128? Alternatively, is it possible to log into the Obi2128 with a web browser and set it up manually (like you can do with the ATA boxes)?

Can the Obi2128 be setup and used with a VOIP provider (Callcentric or Localphone), without involving the Obitalk website and without using Google voice?

If the Obitalk website is discontinued (no longer available) could the Obi2128 be used without it (set up for Callcentric or Localphone)?

Thanks for any information...

Yes, you can configure everything (except Google Voice) directly on the phone's embedded web server, just as you can with the OBi 200 and other OBi ATAs.

Pick up the phone and key in ***1 to get the phone's IP address, or view it on the screen under Settings-->Network.

The default login credentials are admin/admin

SteveInWA, Thanks for your speedy answer. Looks good!

If possible could you also post either a few screenshots showing what "the phone's embedded web server" looks like, or post a link to documentation where they can be found.

I just wanted to make sure that the OBi2182 doesn't become abandoned hardware, that would have no use if OBiTALK eventually went away.

Much appreciated...

Simply open a web browser, type in the IP address in the address bar, and you'll see it.  By "embedded web server", I mean:  any network-attached device that can be controlled via its IP address is running a very simple web server, and the human user interface you see is being generated by that web server.

See the main page in my attached screenshot.  See the admin guide for details:

Note that the link above and my screenshot are for OBi ATAs, but the same concept applies to the IP phones.

I believe you and that's great news. However, this info is not contained in the OBi2182 Quck Start Guide, which only shows the OBi2182 being setup with OBiTALK. Since I don't intend using OBiTALK with Google Voice, I'd feel much more comfortable ordering an OBi2182 if someone could please upload some actual screen snapshots of the GUI web display for an OBi2182. As noted, your screen snapshot was for an OBi ATA, not an OBi2182. I'd very much like to see a User Manual for the OBi2182 which shows how this telephone can be set up without OBiTALK. Much thanks for any further comments, ideas, or feedback.

Is anyone in the forum using the OBi2182 without OBiTALK (i.e., on Callcentric)?

I use an OBi2182 and think I have a user manual somewhere on my pc. I will have to see if I can find it.

The Obiphone Admin Guide is downloadable. Follow the link to documents at the bottom of obitalk.com or the link on your dashboard.

The onboard webserver pages have the same look and feel as the screenshot already posted by SteveInWA.

I already posted the download link in my post, above.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I picked up 2 from that link and 1 new one from another link for $59.

Had to return one of the refurbed ones. It had terrible cutouts and skips and delays over wifi. Fine over ethernet. The other ones were perfect over the same wifi. I bought another new one to replace it.

Once we fixed the transfer outside GV calls from one 2182 to another 2182, they are doing quite well.

I have used a BT v3 plantronics headset with it. Was "Okay" range was so-so.

I use a vtech dect headset with their usb dongle plugged into usb port on the back of the obi2182.  it works well

Anyone know of a wireless headset that works reliably with the OBi2182? And is a bluetooth headset still supported?

I'm a total noob when it comes to headsets. Any info greatly appreciated.
