Can't add device and other problems

I'm having all kinds of problems.

I updated to the newest firmware.

I can call the **9 222 222 222 number and it works fine.

I cannot change anything in the ITSP profiles or the Voice Services. Even if I just change the name. When I click submit I get this-> "OBi device is currently busy, Your request is denied."

The power light is flashing and I get a stutter dial tone.

The "Account Configuration Wizard for Google Voice" located here-> http://www.obihai.com/itspConfiguration/itspConfiguration-googlevoice.html is also not able to make any changes in order to setup Google Voice. But it does reboot.

Also in the ObiTalk portal when attempting to add it as a new device. When I enter the **5 xxxx number into the attached phone I get a reply from my OBi100 that says "There is no call route available to complete your call".

Factory reset doesn't help, Re-flashing the firmware doesn't help.

Help!!!

One option is to configure the OBi directly instead of the through the OBiTALK Web Portal.

1. Log in (admin/admin) to the OBi using the IP address returned by dialing ***1.

2. Reset the OBi to factory defaults:

System Management -> Device Update -> Reset Configuration

3. Once the OBi reboots, set:

System Management -> Auto Provisioning -> ITSP Provisioning -> Method : Disabled
System Management -> Auto Provisioning -> OBiTALK Provisioning -> Method : Disabled

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> General -> Name : Google Voice
Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> General -> SignalingProtocol : Google Voice

Voice Services -> SP1 Service -> AuthUserName : (Google Voice username)
Voice Services -> SP1 Service -> AuthPassword : (Google Voice password)
Voice Services -> SP1 Service -> X_SkipCallScreening : (checked)

Physical Interfaces -> PHONE Port -> PrimaryLine : SP1 Service

Click submit at the bottom of any page that changes have been to before leaving that page.

Click Reboot in the upper right corner after all desired changes have been made.

Thanks for the reply RonR

After setting these and clicking submit

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> General -> Name : Google Voice
Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> General -> SignalingProtocol : Google Voice

I get "OBi device is currently busy, Your request is denied."

RonR

Strange.  I've never seen that message or anyone else report it.

Can you disable your Internet connection (turn off your modem) and see if you still get that error after power-cycling the OBi and trying again to configure it with the Internet inaccessible?

boke

I just tried it, Still get the same message that says the device is busy.

I can change the ip address and dhcp settings without error though...

RonR

That's weird.  Resetting the OBi to factory defaults ought to clear anything in progress.  I'm at a loss for suggestions.  Maybe you received a defective OBi.

boke

It may be defective, I'll try a little more then contact OBiHAI. Thanks for trying to help.

I just reflashed the firmware again. Still the same results..

Stewart

What does the Phone and Line port status show?  If either is shown as off hook, disconnect your phone (and phone line, if applicable) from the OBi and check again.  If still off hook, IMO the device is defective.

boke

It shows "On Hook".

The power light is flashing green. According to the support docs this means its looking for an ip address. But it has one, it's 192.168.1.118 and i can connect to the web interface without problem.

I just can't make any changes to anything other than the 'Network Settings' page. Anything else and I get the device is busy message.

Below is a syslog from my OBi100
Two of the logs in particular look bad. Looks like I am a victim of a bad flash. But shouldn't reflashing fix this?

OBiSupport took care of my problem. And very quickly!
I gave them my device number and they took it from there.

What was the problem?

boke

I don't know what the problem was. I just got an email from them that said

QuoteWe made some update on your Obi, and please do a factory reset on your unit first by doing ***8, press 1 to confirm.

Works great now.
