Hi All,
Newbie here and first time post.

I am interested in setting up OBi with GV in order to get rid of my landline. However, the reason I still have landline now a day is because of the ADT service.

I am wondering if anyone had any successful story to make OBi/GV works with ADT (without any paid 3rd party subscription)?

TIA

Dixon

I tried with an Ademco Lynx panel. It did not work. Sends invalid data through GV. It's a codec issue or something.

Some people have had sucess with ooma. That didn't work for me either.

I gave up and decided to keep a $20 landline.

A lot of alarm companies offer internet monitoring now.

ADT is overpriced. When your contract is up get Alarm Relay http://www.alarmrelay.com/ and pay yearly. It is only $8.95/mo.
I have been with them for years. They are very good.

IP Alarms have developed a custom alarm receiver to work with the Obihai devices... http://ipalarms.net/obi110.htm

A provisioning server is under development and once complete, you will be able to order alarm monitoring with your Obihai device directly from our http://www.youralarm.com consumer web site.

You can stay with your existing alarm company or move over to our partners Nationwide Digital in New York.

You are not using ADT if you just calling your cell. Big difference between that and transmitting data over GV.

Your system was probably installed by ADT but you are not using the ADT Central Stations for monitoring if you are just notifying your cell. If you want to use ADT Central Station services GV will probably not work.

For those OBi users who have an Ademco or DSC Installed System and are paying for Alarm Monitoring through a Land Line, I can recommend the EnvisaLink 3 Module.  It cost $99 and allows for Central Station Monitoring from EnvisAlarm.  You also get free email and or Text messages for all alarm events, opening/closing of zones, Camera Support and Limited HVAC tie-in.  Also, arm/disarm from Android/Iphone or PC from anywhere in the world!  You can self-monitor your Alarm System without signing up for their Monitoring service.  Great product!!
