Does the OBI110 support the T.38 fax protocol?
Searched the FAQ, couldn't find it.
Thanks

T.38 is not currently supported.
The OBi110 and OBi100 support faxing transparently using the G.711 algorithm optimized for fax (automatic).

Please consider supporting T.38 in the future!  This is not a dealbreaker for me but it's pretty close  :)

In a syslog output I see a reference to "FAX MODE". Does the OBi have T.38 fax support or a fax server hiding inside waiting to be activated in a future firmware update? Or is this related to your above quoted statement?

Syslog Capture:
<7> [SLIC] FAX MODE  ---  OFF   172.16.240.52   10/04 02:58:31.197

A lot of thought obviously went into the design of the Obi 110 and 100.  It's a very promising start.
T.38 fax support would make buying one a very easy decision.

What I'd like to hear from Obihai is whether they plan to support T.38 at some point in the future,
either by firmware updates to the existing products or by the introduction of a new, more feature-rich product.

As it stands now, if you want T.38 you have to buy something like a Cisco SPA2102.  The
thing is, I'd much prefer to get something from Obihai.

Note to moderator:  Looks like this thread should be moved to the Features Request forum.

I'm confused on whether Obihai plans to support T.38 down the road or not? I'm assuming the hardware is capable, that it's more of a firmware issue.

lhm.

Obi100 works fine without T.38 on GV.

g.711 isn't T.38, plain and simple.
