Obi was off when I got home

I was out and about and called home to hear a message from my sp Callcentric that the person you're trying to reach is unavailable.  When I got home I checked the Obi and discovered no lights on the box.  I unplugged the device and plugged back in and it came back up.  There were no power outages.  All of my other devices were up?  What's up with that?

Just to add on...When the Obi came back up I noticed there was firmware update.  Could the Obi have turned itself off because it needed the firmware update?  It's a stretch I know.  Just curious as to why it would be totally off.  I need my phone to be reliable.  

P.s. No cats, no kids that would have turned it off.

The OBi doesn't have an off mode.

There were no lights on the Obi but it did feel warm.
