Re-load firmware
«

Obi110 need to reload firmware, have 1-3-0-2711 firmware, which wont allow re-load. It appears corrupted on (line & phone are both dead) phone ports. Any ideas? (could be a hardware problem). Have web browser access to the unit.
Any help would be apreciated

See

Note that tells you how to manually download and install the current firmware. Try that first (even if it's the same version you currently have) because there's no reason it shouldn't work.
There is a list of older versions there and by modifying the download URL manually (the format is obvious) you may be able to get an older version, but you shouldn't need to.

I tried reloding original software, (no go), I hooked the obi 110 directly into the computer and tried (no go) using the web portal.
When you say change the URL, what do you suggest, I gather to change the url (file name) and then initiate update firmware in the web portal.

Incidentaly I read in the firmware section that 1-3-0-2711 will not allow a downgrade of firmware, obviously it wont allow the same file to be re-written either. Unless their is another way (TFT or ?) to downgrade or to even re-load the current firmware the unit is bricked?

It's not bricked if you can access it. You could try doing a factory reset, see the last message in this thread:

If that doesn't work, e-mail
support@obihai.com
and explain your issue, and be sure to include the 9 digit OBiTALK number from the bottom of your device.

EUREKA!
After many attempts to re-load the firmware on the OBi110, and OBihai issuing and RMA to return the unit, we came to the conclusion the unit is defective. Since we live outside of the US, and the hassle of freight costs, shipping etc and time, we decided to open the unit for a looksy. Wow what a surprise ! There was solder resin and specks of solder on a small section of the PC board around RS17. Touching the associated chip (smaller of the two main chips), and after cleaning and a microscopic inspection, we fired it back up, couldn't keep my finger on the top of the chip because it was burning hot. No wonder that neither of the phone ports worked. This board should never have left the factory. The unit worked just fine for about 4 days. We are using 2 of them for an office telco extension. It worked great, clear voice and easy to install. DON'T register them however. We are going to order a replacement since hassling with customs , etc.and waiting for a $49 (Amazon) unit isn't worth it. On a 1 to 10 scale, I would rate this unit as a good 8. I was also impressed with the support from OBihai. Heck we all make mistakes, or at least some of us. Boone
