SP2 (Optional)GV (###)###-#### Connected to 125.142.125.74 ???

(1/1)

XM202AFRO:
I tried to call home to my GV # today, and it rang off the hook.

When I got home and logged into my Obi via the site
my main GV # had

"SP2 (Optional)   GV (###)###-#### Connected to 125.142.125.74"

as the status.  I tried calling out from it, and no luck.  I logged into
GV and called out via the web, and was able to call my cell phone.
I called back the number and it rang through.  I then tried dialing out from
my home phone, and it was successful.

Doing a reverse lookup on the IP address, lists it as;

Seoul in Korea, Republic of, as part of the block of addresses registered
too Korea Telecom.

Very odd indeed.. to make things worse, when I tried to get into the forum
here, I had to create a forum ID, when asked for my password
(ie the one I used to admin my obi), it was an incorrect password ?? the
very password I just use.  Very odd indeed..

Anyone know how this could have connected my GV to that address?

or is that status meaning there was a soft client from that address connected
to my GV on my obi?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you..

XM

I forgot to mention, this is a Obi202..

You might want to check your DNS just as a precaution.  Here's a site that checks for the DNSChanger infection: http://www.dns-ok.us/

You can also try changing your DNS settings to a known safe DNS provider.  I believe 4.2.2.2 and 8.8.8.8 are known to be legitimate.

Hopefully others here will have more ideas too,

If you were going for Google's public DNS, the addresses are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
