I have called other Toll Free 800 numbers using OBI-110 but not able to call 800-333-7400 UPS telephone support number.  Please advise what I can do to alleviate this issue.  The primary use for OBI-110 was to call UPS support number.

Route 800 type #s through sip.tollfreegateway.com or http://www.tollfree4free.com/Welcome.html

Edit: The above link is no longer valid (http://www.tollfree4free.com/Welcome.html) and sip.tollfreegateway.com is now less effective on some toll free numbers.

Thank you Ihm...I viewed the tollfree4free.com website but was unable to view screen shots on http://www.tollfree4free.com/Setup.html  I emailed tollfree4free.com and still awaiting a response.  One of their main emails does not work on their website.  Do you know of a youtube video or previous posting of how to setup the 800 route.

Thanks again for your help!!!

When I tried tollfree4free it didn't want to take my calls. I switched to tollfree.alcazarnetworks.com and it works fine.

You can also check this page: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Toll+Free+Termination+Providers

Huib,

Do you have a guide/link on how to enter in the necessary information for tollfree.alcazarnetworks.com ?  Forgive me and my newbie status.

Hi Donny,

In my example I have used SP2 for toll free routing. Using a voice gateway is possible but more complex and depends on your current settings.

Follow along with these screen shots. Settings you don't see on the screenshot need to be set to default.

For the 1st option, Name, use any name you like.
You might not need STUN, but if you experience sound issues give it a try (last 2 settings).

You can set the AuthUserName to anything you want, the OBi just wants something so that it knows SP2 is active.

Finally, you'll need {(Msp2):sp2} somewhere in your OutboundCallRoute for the PHONE Port.

Use the scroll bar below this reply to see the full with of the images.

Huib,

Thank you so much for this information.  Our shipper thanks you.  He can now call UPS.

Have a good one...

I am having a similar issue as I do a lot of business with insurance carriers. I'm sure you know how they rely on 800 numbers.

Anyway, I have an OBi100 with GV on SP1 and my softphone (x-lite v5) on SP2. The only changes from the default setup is a change in password and an addition to X_InboundCallRoute to fork incoming calls. Being new to OBi and Voip in general, there are a number of other changes that I am compiling information on, but want to decide on a plan of action, execute changes individually, test them and save the config each time so I can have a rollback option should things go awry.

How would I approach this problem. I know very little about voice gateways, but I am more than willing to learn. Any help getting me started in the right direction would be great.

OK! After a little searching (btw, I discovered that searches with this forum software are only relevant to the current forum level, so I had to back out to higher levels before I started to find what I was looking for) I found What would be a typical usage scenario for a Voice Gateway? and Voice Gateway setup, the latter link being a newer thread with some more examples a little more relevant to what I want to do.

Putting the proverbial 2+2 together, I am much closer to understanding what is offered here. It's scary, but this stuff is starting to make sense.  ;D Anyway, thanks to all for your contributions.
