noob gv question

I just got my Obi100 set up without a problem. Able to make and receive calls. Want to add my landline to the phones section in gv, but number will not verify. Is this a gv problem, problem with type of phone I'm using (panasonic kx-tga652--believe it's a digital handset) or could it have anything to do with having a dsl phone? Sorry if silly questions, totally new to all this techie stuff :)
