SIP Configuration Question

(1/2) > >>

Hortoristic:
I'm using a DID service in UK with www.ukddi.com - signed up and gave me the following information:

It has Help that says:
•  sip:...   - routing over SIP to a specified host, e.g. sip:442032982000@176.192.123.1
•  register   - route to a client registered with us (see below)

I think I want the Routing option - but unsure what to put in Route box on their site

Also; is this how I set it up on OBI?

SIP Username: MySIPUser
SIP Server: MySIPServer
SIP Password: MySIPPassword

Assuming SP1 - shouldn't I set it up like this:

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> General -> SignalingProtocol = SIP
Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> General -> Name = WhatEverIWant
Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> SIP -> ProxyServer = MySIPServer
Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> SIP -> RegistrarServer = MySIPServer

Voice Services -> SP1 Service -> AuthUserName = MySIPUser
Voice Services -> SP1 Service -> AuthPassword = MySIPPassword

Hortoristic:
Think I got it closer.  Under voice services -> SP2 Service -> I needed to change the first 3 Profile settings from A to B and check the very first Enable setting.

Now I'm not getting authenticating errors.  I'm still not getting the phone to ring - when I dial the UK number it just have forever silence.

Lavarock7:
In the route box you put    "register"   then configure the OBI with your authentication user and password. The user is the ukddi_xxxxxx and the pasword is also listed on the same information page on ukddi.

Then the obi should point to sip.ukddi.com and the username and password, etc.

The number@IP is used for connecting to an IP and extension/phone number, like an asterisk box. I don't know if it works that way with an OBI, but I use the register option and credentials.

Hortoristic:
Works perfect - thanks!

sip:<number>@<host> - route calls directly to the specified host

for example route to Callcentric sip:1777xxxxxxx@in.callcentric.com
