Google Voice with Current Gmail or New Account?

Hi,
   I have seen a post regarding the use of Google Voice with OBI and my current Gmail account or creating a new Gmail account just for Google Voice with OBI.
    There were pros and cons for each but I can't seem to find that post. If someone here has a link to the pros and cons could you please post it here?
    I have started the process of porting my home number(s) to OBI with the intermediate stop at T-Mobile.

With the recent update to the Talkatone app (it now allows multiple log ins for the same gmail account) I am hoping that other devices that use the google chat feature would also be able to do this. I didn't know if it was now something native for gmail or if the apps/devices would need to be updated.

I sent an email to Obihai about it. They thanked me for letting them know and said they would check into it.
