The phone doesn't ring at all. I can make calls and receive calls but when receiving calls, it doesn't ring. I can see my phone light up when it does get a call. I tried this with 3 different phones and they all do not ring.

Here are my settings:

Turned off Mobile so that only my home phone gets calls.

I'm not sure what's going on... Tried 3 different phones and it won't on either one of them. I thought it was the phones that were the problem but I just bought the VTECH DECT 6.0 phones 2 weeks ago. Tried the older phones and they do not work either.

Hello Denian.  Welcome to the Fourm.

You have provided all kinds of information, but it's all about your Google Voice Settings.

In hopes of getting assisance, we need to know more about your OBi.

What OBi Device are you using?
Did you set it up using the OBiTALK Portal?

One of the First things I would want to see, is what your x_inboundcallroute is.

You can find it by going to the OBiTALK Portal, and selecting your device.

Go to: Expert Config. > Voice Services > SP1 Service > x_InboundCallRoute.
There, you should have {ph}.  (or {ph1} for OBi202)

Let us know, and we can assist you further.

Ah, sorry. The only thing I was messing with were those settings and was wondering if I messed those up. I'm pretty sure I didn't but I wanted to make sure.

I'm using the OBi100 and I used the tutorial from OBiTalk.

Here's the whole SP1 settings:

It's {ph} if you cannot see the image for any reason.

GregoryZ

Hmmm.  Everything looks good, from what I can see.

The: ph in the x_inboundcallroute is telling the OBi to ring the Phone Port.  So, that is what you want.

So, you said that you can make calls, and receive calls.

What kind of phone are you using that Lights Up?  Seems that the physical phone is getting a signal from the OBi, or it would't light up.

I don't suppose you have an "OLD" phone to test with.  I've used an Ol' School Desk Phone, and am currently using a Cordless.  I don't have any issues with them.

You also stated that you tried other phones.  By chance, have you always been using the same cord to connect those phones to the OBi?

I'm not sure what else it could be.

This is the phone I bought 2 weeks ago.

We had 2 older phones which I both tried using the phone line provided from the OBi box to connect to the OBi. They both receive calls but they do not ring either! This is really weird because I checked the ringer volumes and they're really loud when configuring them but they just won't ring when I call the phones.

GregoryZ

Ok.  So when your phone Lights Up, does it show the phone number on the display?

Here is another idea.  A real stab in the dark, but how about trying a different tone.  Either on the phone itself, or adjust the OBi settings.

The setting for the Ring Tone on the OBi is just above the x_InboundCallRoute.  Try setting it to B.

Again, if your phone is lighting up, and if you're getting a number on the display, I'm doubting that it is a problem with the OBi.

Let us know what you do, and hopefully someone else will jump in with an idea.

Denian,

Have you changed any of these settings?

Physical Interfaces->PHONE Port->Ringer->
RingFrequency
RingVoltage
RingWaveform

Yes, it lights up and my phone number is displayed. This happens with the other phone that has a display as well. At first, I thought it was the phones too. I was going to pack them up and ship them back until we tried one of the older phones with the display and see if it produced the same effect. It actually did and I tried a factory reset and used the tutorial again hopefully working the second time but no ring still. Let me try changing the ringtone really quick.

No, I have not changed any of those settings.

Here are what the settings look like:

Also, I tried all the silly things from googling the problem like deleting google chat and readding it so it appears on the bottom... the **0, press 3, 0#, hang up, unplugging the phone base and removing the battery from the phone for 30-45 seconds, etc.

GregoryZ

I'm afraid that I'm stumped.

Sounds like you're doing your homework though.  :)

Hang tight, there may be a couple of other ideas coming your way from others.

1) Make sure that your device has latest firmware.

2) I don't think you answered whether you programmed your device via portal. If you didn't - reset to factory settings and try programming via OBi website portal.

Denian

Haven't update in awhile but still having this issue. Been just leaving it in front of us while we're on the computers to see if anyone calls... Pretty inconvenient but it'll have to do. I did a factory reset by holding down the button on the bottom for awhile as instructed in the FAQ and went through the portal setup again. Still nothing. The device has the latest firmware.

GregoryZ

Denian,

I was wondering how things were going.  I figured that you had gotten it fixed, was the reason you hadn't posted anything more.

Sure wish I had an answer for ya.

What model phone? Are you in the US and the phones are US phones?

Normal ring voltage in the US was 90 volts. The value you show at 70 is a peak reading. You can raise that up to about 82 volts. Why not try a higher value? Also you might change from Sinusoidal as a test
