Obi110 - Crashes over night

(1/3) > >>

timpea:
Hi,

I am in the UK and have a Obi110 setup as an FXO for a Asterisk/FreePBX server, everything seams to work fine during the day, then when I come back to it in the morning the network light is flashing constantly and I can't access the Obi110 through the IP address and have to pull the power lead out.

Is there anything I can check that I might have setup badly?

Cheers,
Tim Pearson

Check to see if:

1) Your internet service provider has downtime overnight for maintenance.
2) Your building cuts power overnight at any time, i.e. to test a generator or battery backup.

Can you access the internet in the morning via the same internet connection that the OBi is using?

CoalMinerRetired:
There are also "reboot reason codes," 1 - 19. See here, scroll down to Product Information.

There's also SysLogging you could do overnight. If you're not familar with that, read up on it, it's pretty simple. All you have to do on the Obi is set a field for ip address of a syslog client (which you need to download) and click save configuration.

Lavarock7:
A simple Windows based syslog viewer is the desktop program from Sysrose.Com.

I'll setup the syslog tomorrow, so hopefully I will know what is causing this the day after.

In answer to the Internet connection & power questions, it is plugged into a UPS so there shouldn't be any power problems, and I don't believe the Internet drops at all, would have to leave a computer on monitoring it to find out.  The Internet does work in the morning, but a couple of times that the obi110 has crashed, I've not been able to get on the Internet, I get a feeling the obi110 has been almost denial of servicing my router, as when I turn the obi110 off everything has started working again.
