Should GV be broke out into different SP when using Simon Gateway?

I'm having some issues today with outbound calls on GV. I use the Simon Telephone Gateway so that incoming calls display caller names.
By doing this, I'm adding an extra layer of complexity (failure) by having Simon in between GV and my OBI.
I'm wondering if I should/or even could - having incomming calls go through Simon Gateway, but outgoing calls go straight out GV?
Following the instructions (which works well), all inbound and outbound calls are currently going via Simone Gateway.
Maybe SP1 should be outbound GV only; and SP2 is inbound Simon Gateway (GV inbound).

this would only work if you could guarantee that the configuration on sp2 logs into google last. If you set up the same account two times outgoing calls can be placed from either one, but only the last one to log in will receive calls.
