Caller ID, Names not showing up...

like the title says... only the numbers are showing up on my caller id and when i make outgoing calls, it doesnt state the name i assigned my number, only my number appears. any help with this would be appreciated.

btw im using GV.

If you mean on incoming calls, it's because when calls go between phone companies, all they get is the numbers.  In order to get names they have to do a data dip on each call, and that costs money.  Google Voice won't pay, so you don't get the name.

If you mean on outgoing calls, I don't think Google Voice is set up to pass a name along to the phone companies serving those you are calling.  You could try registering with http://www.listyourself.net/ but I have no idea whether that would help.

For incoming calls, I see in GTalk the caller ID being converted to the name of the caller associated with the calller ID (phone number) I have in my contacts. Since this is a functionality available in GTalk, shouldn't it be possible to do so with Obi110 also?

I'd suggest this thread be moved to feature requests — sounds like a good idea if it can be done.
