Using Obi110 with GV; no dialtone until I flash switchhook

Using firmware 1.3 build 2711 and Google Voice.  Until recently everything worked fine.  Now when I pick up the phone I get no dial tone until I flash the switchhook.  Then I get a dialtone and can place a call.  What's wrong with my setup?  Thanks!

can you elaborate what you mean by "flash switchhook"?

2 days back, my obi suddenly stopped giving me the dialtone....the obi seems to be all connected to the internet since it registers to the obi network as well as to my sip providers..but when i pick up my phone, i can't hear the dialtone....
