OBiTALK is not saving in the Expert Configuration

First, this is an amazing device.  Just got it a few days ago and using all the features in the obi100 (call back, both sps, vg, obion, etc.)

However, having a small problem saving changes on OBiTALK.  Steps (with 1.3.0 (Build: 2774)):
1. register OBI device (my case OBi100).  At this point, the device data is cleared (okay).
2. go to expert configuration right away
3. go to "enter obi expert"
4. make any change (such as sp1 service) and press "submit"
5. log directly into OBi device and verify that the change is made (good so far)
6. make a second change (such as sp2 service) and press "submit"
** at this point, I find that this and any subsequent change is not made to the device.

Note that above is the simplest test case; this happens even after configuring the SP1 and SP2 from OBiTALK.

For now my workaround is after step 6, I manually configure the service directly to the obi100.  The device is still registered on obitalk so I still get to use OBiON.

Daniel - welcome to the forum.

To make the changes via the Obi Expert Configuration pages:
From your OBi Dashboard, click on your OBi number and follow the prompts to get there. To change a value uncheck both boxes to the right of the value and leave them unchecked. After changing the values on one page, press submit at the bottom of the page and wait a few minutes for the Obi to reboot. Then move on to the next page if required.

Thanks for the steps.  Unfortunately this did not work.  As mentioned, the steps you mentioned works only the first time I press 'submit'. Subsequent submits (same or other settings) won't save.

I was checking the system, and it looks like "OBiTALK provisioning" has been cleared.  I tried to manually 'fix' it back (and restarted the box):
-Method=Periodically
-Interval=30
-ConfigURL=https://prov.obitalk.com/obhsnprov/init/initkey
-also tried ConfigURL=SYNC -A=aes -K=$SPRM0 -IV=$SPRM1 http://prov.obitalk.com/obhsnprov/profiles /9cadef10cbb0-280X8XXX3X2X.cfg; IF ( $TPRM0 != 1 ) -T=TPRM1 https://prov.obitalk.com/obhsnprov/init/initkey; IF ( $TPRM0 == 1 ) -T=TPRM1 http://prov.obitalk.com/obhsnprov/sync/sync-$SPRM2

But either way, the device fails to update with any changes from OBiTALK.  Any other ideas?

Make 1 change.  Click Submit.  Wait, then make the second change, and click submit, then wait.  Then, when done with changes, click Reboot on the top right.  See if that saves them.

danwong

Yes... did that (from obitalk make one change submit, wait.  Make another change submit wait) but no changes are made (httping directly to device to verify)...

I just did a hard reset with the same results.

I don't use either interface, I go directly via IP and all my changes take.  Saw no reason to use those ways in with direct IP access available.  Then again, I don't do fancy things with my OBi, just use it for GV.

Daniel,

What you are describing should work... so it's probably a support issue (that is, something specific to your unit). One thing to note, though. I doubt that the updates are controlled by OBiTALK provisioning setting. I have Interval set at 86400 (which I think is the default); however, any changes I make on the portal are pushed to the device within less than a minute.

That said, I don't see any other setting that would be more applicable - so I may be completely wrong :)

Just tried again (after a year), and now the saving now works properly.

I know it's 3 years since this thread was last touched but I just had to troubleshoot this so I'll post my solution in case any others stumble across this as well.

Trying to save changes to ChannelTxGain and ChannelRxGain by navigating directly to the device's IP address does not save the changes.  For these 2 fields, you must change these two fields via the obitalk.com portal under Obi Expert Configuration -> Physical Interfaces -> PHONE X

Changing there will save the new values to the device.

You need to read and understand http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=61.0 before doing any more troubleshooting on OBis or posting about configuring them.
