WIFI Adapter not connecting?

I have a support ticket going for a number of days, I thought perhaps I would try this route in case i was missing something?
We've been able to ascertain that I am not receiving an IP address when my computer is connected to the LAN port of the OBI Device. That is as far I have gotten with support to date.

Bizarre -
Talked with tech support and got it working.
Here's what they had me do.... disconnect the wired as I had that set up successfully, then connect the ethernet to the computer and obi lan add power to the obi ... what for green lights, then go to http://192.168.10.1 voila it worked. I can tell you I tried this oodles of times for a week without success... same ethernet cord and everything.
The only difference is that I didn't plug in the phone base until everything else was up ... and connected. I have no clue if that is what did it... but that is the ONLY difference.
Once I could see the webpage at the above addy, then I added /wifi and voila networks popped up, selected my network entered my network password - then I plugged int he cordless phone base that is connected to the obi.
OMG.
