Help Setting Up Obi110 with Telephone Company Line
LarryOG:
I bought the Obi110 last month and still haven't figured out how to set it up properly so I'm asking for help on the forum.
What I wanted to do was set the unit up where if any of the two google voice numbers were dialed by someone, it would forward the calls through my telephone company line to my cellphone. When I make calls I wanted the telephone company # to appear on their caller id.
Can someone give me some advice on what to do. ???

GoogleVoice won't allow anything other than your GV number as caller id on the outgoing calls thru their service.
If you really want your landline number as caller id on the outgoing calls you would need to get an account at a voip provider that will allow you to do that and send the calls where you care about the outgoing caller id thru your voip provider. That would mean either getting rid of one of the two GV numbers or buying a 2d OBi adapter to work in combination with your present OBi110.
You can setup the adapter to ring your cellphone for an incoming call. To do this you would setup the X_InboundCallRoute on both your SPx Service(s) setup for your two GV numbers. To ring your cellphone you would setup the X_InboundCallRoute as {li1(1nnnnnnnnnn)} where 1nnnnnnnnnn is the number you wish to have the OBi dial on the PSTN Line port.

Each time I change the parameters it would change right back to ph under my voice services. Am I changing the right place?
Rick:
What's the reason behind your request? Is it because calls to your cell, from your home phone number, don't use minutes? I have ten numbers that can call my cell, or be called from my cell, for free. Two of those are my GV numbers.

LarryOG,
Make the changes via the OBi Expert Configuration pages. From your OBi Dashboard, click on your OBi number and follow the prompts to get there. To change a value uncheck both boxes to the right of the value and leave them unchecked. After changing the values on one page, press submit at the bottom of the page and wait a few minutes for the OBi to reboot.
