I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way to disable online backups when phone calls are active.

I have an OBi220 and I've tried various QoS settings on the device as well as on my Netgear WNR2000v2 router.  I have also tried putting the OBi first on the network ahead of my router.  None of these prevent major uplink voice quality issues while backups are running full steam.

It would be great if there were a feature that could somehow suppress online backup traffic or suspend the backup itself.  After my initial backup is complete, I'll throttle the maximum online backup bandwidth significantly to help, but it would be better if this could be adjusted based on active/inactive calls.

Why not schedule your online backup during the hours the phone is inactive/not in use (let's say between 2am- 6:00am)?

CrashPlan doesn't allow specifying hours of backup.  Either way, I can solve this by throttling--just not until my first (huge) backup is fully completed.

Crashplan does have a scheduling backup setting. I set mine to backup from midnight to 6am daily.
