new router, now mac drops internet when phone line is used! help!

MikeGJ:
any ideas? W'eve been using an OBI110 for a long time now, and I just got a new wifi router. Now my wifes mac drops its internet if I pick up the phone - my PC drops speed a tiny bit (basic DSL goes from 1.3 Mb to 1.2 Mb down and 0.84 to 0.66 upload). Sure we didnt hav this problem with the old router (a Tmobile hotspot). the OBI connects to a router in the basement where DSL comes in and that router is hardwired to my new wifi router on the ground floor (same setup as with the old router).
So the OBI isnt directly physically connected to the wifi router!
Is this a known issue and/or is there a workaround for this?
any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like interference. See

Rick:
You don't want two routers setup to provide addresses to your devices. The first router needs to have DHCP turned on and the wireless router needs to have it turned off. Your new router's documentation will tell you how to do that.
