I was reading the thread about thrifty replacements for GoogleVoice with great interest
(http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=6968.0)
Then I came across Obivoice as a drop in alternative. $60/2 years ends up being $2.50/month.
Can somebody comment on the pros/cons/differences between using Obivoice vs a combination of Ipkall and localphone?
Thanks

Most of us are unsure about Obivoice since they are newcomers.  If they live up to their claims ObiVoice has the following advantages.
CNAM
E911
Visual Voicemail
Faxing (if it works)

Localphone has
Callback
Calling Card access
SMS
Free inbound calling
International calling
Credit last forever as long as you make one paid call every 365 days.
Start with as little as $1
Voicemail
Speed Dials

Both have
Call Blocking
Call Forwarding
Free trial - local phone offers a 5 minute credit - Obivoice has a 60 minute/1 month trial.
Custom outbound CID (CID spoofing)

It's unclear whether Obivoice does international calling.  If it doesn't Localphone would be a good addition to ObiVoice for international calling.  Assuming ObiVoice is what it claims to be it will be a terrific value.

You forgot international DID's and Local Numbers service.
Whoever cares about e911 service can get it from other providers, anveo 80c/month, callcentric 1.50/month, especially interesting with the free NYC DID.
Obivoice might be a great value for some people depending on their needs, but does not do much for me.
