Obihai 110, no lights on, any suggestions for repair?

(1/1)

bhc2000:
Hello, got an Obihai 110 March 2012.  Worked well until yesterday (phone calls came in).  This afternoon, found no lights on, unit felt warm, smelled burnt.  Unplugged power, let cool down, plugged back power, still no lights on.  I understand it is out of warranty.  Could it have been overheated because of the weather?  It has been kept at the same place for the last year.  Any suggestions as to worth it to try to get it repaired.  Thank you for your help.

Ostracus:
There's really little repairable on the PCB (discretes maybe, but most people don't have the equipment, or skill).

dircom:
That's where a credit card that doubles the warranty comes in handy.

Have you tested that the power adaptor is working?

Before declaring the obi unit dead, I'd suggest you switch the ac/dc adaptor (if you have a 2nd obi
or a compatible spare), or at least measure the voltage output of your current adaptor.
