Why this time zone?

The answer is - it doesn't.  It's on PST.  You can set preferences under your Profile.

Got it. Somebody put my time zone as Atlantic, which was slightly annoying because when I checked new postings for the day at 11 pm they were already gone as those from previous day. :)
