Hi all,
I have an Obi 202 connected behind my cable modem, with a PC connected by Cat5 behind my Obi202 using Obi as a router.
When the PC is directly connected to the cable modem I get 60 Mbps down.
When I put the Obi 202 in front of it, I get 20 Mbps down.
I've changed the 2 cat 5 cables in the line and the problem persists.
If I had to guess, this reminds me of those LAN port, full-half duplex setting issues. If so, where do I adjust those settings in the Obi interface? I only see physical port settings for the phone ports.
Firewall, QoS and DMZ are all disabled. LAN cables are all shorter than 3 feet. What am I missing?
Thanks for any and all help.
As mentioned above, the OBi throughput in router mode is 30Mbps max. I would switch it to bridge mode... then it becomes a 3-port switch... and place it behind a good site router. I would not disable your site router's default protection, but do disable any SIP ALG helper function.
And, change the OBi WAN/Internet port from default (2) 10Mbs half-duplex to (1) 100Mbs full-duplex:
Dial *** for Device Configuration Menu
Dial 0 for option
Dial 27# for current value
Dial 1 to set a new value
Dial 1# for new value 100Mbs full-duplex
Dial 1 to confirm/save
Hang up to reboot automatically
