Setting up GV & OBi - no 'chat' feature available in GV

I recently purchased an OBi202. Just set up a new gmail account with GV and phone number this morning. Now trying to set up GV to ring incoming calls on the OBi device.

The directions say to enable 'chat' in Google Voice. However, there appears to be no such 'chat' forwarding option in Google Voice. Not sure what to do. Help!!

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured what the problem was: I needed to first connect with the OBi before the chat option appears. Now it does so I think I am good.

In the past, there was also the requirement that you make at least one call from your gmail account, which would let the "chat" appear in your Google Voice interface.  Wasn't aware that just connecting your OBi would cause this feature to magically appear.
