Hi everyone,

Hope someone out there can help me!

What I'm trying to work out is whether I can use my Obi 110 to bridge a gate intercom system via the phone line to a SIP account and the intercom handset at the same time.

So - I've got the Obi setup and connected to my Asterisk server properly via SIP. I've also got a set of Siemens DECT VOIP phones connected to my Asterisk server.

The Gate Intercom is a Farfisa - link to the wiring diagram below:
http://www.acifarfisa.it/db/pdfprodotti/mi2395.pdf

What I was hoping to do was connect the intercom from the gate to the line interface on the Obi and the EX320 handset to the phone side of the Obi.

Then, the system works like this:

  • Someone presses the intercom by the gate.
  • The call goes through the Obi which rings both the Farfisa handset (on the phone port) plus SIP call via the Asterisk server (and eventually SIP call to the iPhone/iPad etc)
  • We answer the call on either device, speak to the vistor and press the gate release button on the Farfisa handset if we want to let them in (I don't think I can make that work over SIP without some extra DTMF to mechanical relay device.

What I'm struggling with (other than if this is at all possible!) is the wiring on the LINE and PHONE interfaces - I've got some RJ11 plugs and crimps ready!

Thanks in advance - I've tried searching the forum but can't see anything exactly like what I'm trying to do.

Cheers

Ian
