Voip.ms SIP URI issue

Hi guys,

I have an Obi110 with GV setup on SP1 and Voip.ms on SP2.  For Voip.ms I would like to get rid of my DID number and just use it for outgoing calls overriding the caller id to my Landline- this works no problem.

Additionally, I forward my landline to my voip.ms DID after 4 rings - I have my DID go straight to voicemail for any incoming call.  This works no problem as well.

What I would like to do is get rid of my DID as no one knows it nor dials it - this way I would save the monthly fee associated with having a DID.  In order to do this, I setup a sub account on VOIP.ms to allow for SIP URI calling.

The issue is when I try to call my sub account from the OBI VIA SIP URI I always get a bad number message.  I am testing it with speed dial:

SP2(11111111@houston.voip.ms)

Where SP2 is my voip.ms account.  I have also tried specifying the port number, using the **2 prefix, nothing seems to work.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

MB..

The direct speed dialing to voip.ms SIP URI works ok for me.

Speed dial is set to SP2(1111669XXXX@montreal.voip.ms)

Have you looked at the call log on the Obi?
The CDR on voip.ms?
Do you have any call caller id rules on voip.ms which would reject the call?
Have you edited the SP2 dial plan on the Obi so it no longer accepts IP calling?

Assuming your account number is 123456 and you have created a subaccount and given that sub account an extension number of 888, Voip.Ms requires account to account calls to use the digits "10" before the extension to call each other.

However, when using a sip URI you drop the "10", thus the URI for this extension would be:

123456888@sip.voip.ms

Thanks guys,

I don't include the 10 in my URI.. if my account is 123456 and my subaccount extenstion is 1 then my URI is 1234561.

I am not sure whether my SP2 forbids URI calling - where would I check?

try it without the server location (losangeles) and try sip.voip.ms instead. I had in my notes both and thing I had problems with using a specific location.

Still no luck..

The number was rejected by the services provider reason 484..

One thing I should mention is that on Voip.ms, my main account is registered (to the OBI) and the sub account is not registered (to any ATA).  Not sure this makes a difference if I want to call this URI or not.

I dunno. I always create subaccounts and not register with the main account.

484 Address Incomplete     Request-URI incomplete.

I am in the middle of something at the moment. I'll try a URI to my own account and report back.

The issue was that since I was using a Voip.ms number to reach a Voip.ms extension I can't use the SIP URI.. Instead I simply use:

SP2(101)

Where 101 is my internal extension.
