Hi,
Before I attempt to setup my OBI202 to use Simon Telephony as my caller ID.... I currently have the OBI202 to work with three Google Voice accounts and one E911 account. Once I follow Simon's guide: https://simonics.com/gvgw/help/ what will I need to change in my OBI202 config?

Is it true that every single outgoing call will have to be 1 - Area Code - Number, even for local calls with Simon as the Gateway?

Thanks for the help.

Regards,

Terry

To use the OBi202 with SimonGateway...

Example on SP1

Service Providers > ITSP Profile A > General
SignalingProtocol > SIP

Service Providers > ITSP Profile A > SIP
ProxyServer > (Provided by Simon Gateway)
RegistarServer > Same as above
UserAgentDomain > Same as above
OutboundProxy > Same as above

Voice Services > SP! Service > SIP Credentials
AuthUserName > Your SimonGateway Username such as GV1xxxxxxxxxx
AuthPassword > Secret provide by SimonGateway

Save each page before going to the next and then Reboot.

That's it.

I never use a 1 before the phone number.

Thank you very much!

With this setup, do you have to dial the area code for a local number?

Is there anything that is unavailable with this setup?

If your DigitMap is setup for 7 digit dialing, then you don't have to enter the area code. I always dial the area code even for local calls. I have not ran into anything that is not available for my needs with SimonGateway.

Have you gotten voicemail notification (Stutter Tone or visual) to work with Simon Telephonics (ST)?  I have ST setup on my Panasonic KX-TGP551T04 IP Phone and it doesn't seem to work.

I don't use Google Voicemail if I can help it. I use the answering machine on my phone for that so I don't get a stutter tone.

Thank you so much for tyjavascript:void(0);ping this up. I probably shouldn't have started on it at 2am but here I am! Be prepared to be blocked by Google for a suspicious log in. I had to do the CAPTCHA verification to get past it:

https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

Though I did find it easier to config through Obitalk. Less lines and just one screen.

But I tested and it works and I really appreciate it.

I want to use my home answering machine too and not GV for a message machine. Can you disable GV for VM or force a longer number of rings on GV so my message machine picks up?

GV Voicemail picks up in 25 seconds and can not be disabled or changed. You must set your answering machine to pick up before 25 seconds. That is usually 4 rings.

One more question please....

If the setup is successful the Configure Voice Service Providers (SP1) status will change to "Registered" instead of "Connected"?

Terry

PS - Mods, could you please make this thread a sticky???

Yes, that is correct as you are now using the Simon GV Gateway which is setup as a SIP provider.

Hi,
OK, I have two of my three lines set up correctly. Now in the caller ID incoming for those two lines I get "Out Of Area" for everything. Is this normal and is there a setting I need to change to fix this?

Terry
