Obi disables internet
Kichi:
I have a bizarre problem with my obi110. When I connect it to my router and receive an incoming call, the Internet stops working. I can still access my router, but none of my devices can access the Internet. The moment I unplug the Ethernet cable for obi from the router, the Internet starts working. Doing a factory reset solved the problem for a few days, but it is back now.
Anyone know what could cause this and how to fix?
Shale:
This may not solve your problem, but it seems worth a try--
Switch your OBi to 100 Mbit full duplex Ethernet as described in http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=5454.0
Kichi:
Thanks. I tried that and the Internet seems to be working. However, my obi110 has gone offline. Maybe I will try assigning a static ip once I get home today.
Shale:
You could try power-cycling your router.
On many routers you can tell the router to always give your OBi the same IP address. I like to do that.
Rick:
Good advice on the fixed address. I give my HTPC, my OBi, my TV Tuner, and my printer all fixed addresses outside the range of the network.
