Ring phone on registration fail
QBZappy:
Just to followup on my previous post. If service notifications is desirable, a neat way of receiving SMS automatically is by using "a recipe" in this free site:
IFTTT is a service that lets you create powerful connections with one simple statement:

You still need a simple app like PagePing 1.0.1 or one of many others ( http://www.sharewareplaza.com/pageping-downloads_90944.html ) to send you the email if the internet connection is lost.

So when the service is down this ring would be continuous until service was restored?
I would set up a ring profile that would give a short chirp every 30 secs or so. I can then turn the ringer off on the phone if I had to.

@FreeWillie
Yeah, I agree that could be useful if done directly on the phone. This sounds like a feature request.

The next best thing is have your computer ring you or send yourself an email when the internet is down. There are some free apps that can run an app to make a sound on your computer/send you an SMS (whatever) and/or send emails. Not really the best solution.
I don't have my computer on 24/7 and how am I supposed to get an e-mail if my internet is down ????????????????????? (I do not have data on my cell phone)
