Google Voice with not Google Chat checkbox

I had setup a Google Voice (GV) account and had no issue selecting/setting Forward to... Google Chat. The next day I was getting another GV number for our new OBi100 and noticed after selecting the new Google Phone Number the Forward to... Google Chat check box was missing.

What I had determined is that I had accidentally enabled Google's newer or upgraded Chat! I searched using Google search and determined how to 'downgrade' the Chat to the one most have seen and hot dog, there was the Forward to... Google Chat check box! Now everything is working as advertised.

Correct. If you upgraded Chat to Hangouts it will not work. Downgrading back to Chat solves it.

How do you downgrade?  I looked around and that no longer seems to be anywhere--you get hangouts and that's it.
