My OBi110 just arrived .  I got it registered on OBiTALK and tried migrating over my existing VoIP service currently running on a Sipura 2100.  I asked my VoIP provider what the softphone settings were and was given the following that plug directly into X-Lite:
  • userid -> SP1 User Name
  • domain -> SP1 Servicer Provider/Outbound Proxy Server
  • password -> SP1 password
  • domain proxy: register with domain and receive calls - assume this was done above
  • dialing plan: #1\a\a.T;match=1;prestrip=2;
  • topology: autodetect firewall traversal
  • server address: stun.counterpath.net with same userid/password
I left the SP1 URI field blank and ignored the STUN server values for the moment.

SP1 on the OBi110 shows registered and I can receive inbound calls.  When I try to place a call to a North American number, it fails with 'Rejected by the service provider, reason is 484'.  However an overseas call works fine suggesting that the basic configuration is correct.

For some reason, my VoIP provider does not allow the leading '1' in front of North American calls, so I dialed just the 10 digits.  Is it safe to assume that the default OBi1110 dial plan is adding a '1' which causes my VoIP provider to reject the call?  The Call History shows a '1' prefix in both the PHONE1 and SP1 Peer Number fields.  I found the DigitMap setting in Expert Configuration under ITSP Profile A General.  This profile also contains the STUN server although I am not sure where I set the username/password.

Am I on the right track?

Thanks, Norbert

Norbert – welcome to the forum. You are indeed on the right track!

This is the default DigitMap:

Service Providers > ITSP Profile A > General > DigitMap:
(1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*#]@@.)

This rule <1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx is the one adding the “1” to ten digit numbers. I suggest this for your DigitMap:

Service Providers > ITSP Profile A > General > DigitMap:
(<1:>xxxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*#]@@.)

Eleven digit numbers starting with “1” will have the leading “1” removed and ten digit numbers will be unchanged.

If you wish to add seven digit “local” numbers then try this:

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A -> General -> DigitMap:
(<1:>xxxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|<aaa>[2-9]xxxxxxS4|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*#]@@.)
Replace aaa with your local code.

I would not use STUN unless you find calls are failing. If you do, then username/password are not required. Simply check the “enable” box and fill in STUNserver details, for example stun.ideasip.com.

Make changes via the OBi Expert Configuration pages. From your OBi Dashboard, click on your OBi number and follow the prompts to get there. To change a value uncheck both boxes to the right of the value and leave them unchecked. After changing the values on one page, press submit at the bottom of the page and wait a few minutes for the Obi to reboot. Then move on to the next page if required.
