Author Topic: OBI100 Brick after setting up Phone Power  (Read 11780 times)

Hello I am having extreme issues with my OBIHAI100. It started with me going to switch to PhonePower as tomorrow native support for Google Voice is dropped. I spent $40 for a years subscription with your partner. I removed my obihai device from my account dashboard. Everytime I readded my device and went into select the PhonePower option to populate my Obihai device with the account settings it would cause my Obihai100 to flash between red and green. When I went to the IP of the obihai it takes me to the firmware upgrade page. When selecting the appropriate OBi100 & OBi110 Models: firmware it proceeds to say its updating but restarts and goes right back to the firmware page. I have tried numerous power cycles and yet for the next 3 times kept doing the same thing. After doing this process 3 times I have continued getting the same responses. I have tried to flash the firmware with both internet explorer (with and without compatibility mode on) Chrome, and still have not gotten any further. I have tried a hard reset by pressing the reset button with a paperclip for 10 seconds, 30 seconds, and 1 minute as well as holding the reset button before I placed the power cable in. Is there any other firmwares I could try? This device has worked amazing with Google Voice and I made the dive to try it with one of the certified providers and have had nothing but a head ache. Please let me know if there is anything I can do as this is my primary line that I use for work. Please let me know what I need to do to get this working as I have tried everything. Thank you very much

Not sure what all you did here but I think you made this a lot harder than it actually is. Also not sure why you removed your OBI device from your dashboard? This is not necessary, all you need to do select Phonepower as your service provider choice and follow their directions, this will lead you through the steps necessary to implement their service on the OBI.  If it was me I would return my OBI settings to how they were before and start over. You don't need to remove your OBI device from your account dashboard. Good Luck.

Welcome to the forum.  Here is my recommended reading for you.  I suggest opening a trouble ticket with ObiHai directly.  This problem may be beyond the scope of this forum.

I would try the following.
Manually download the firmware

Try to access the following menu by logging in to your Obi directly.
 System Management
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Device Update

You could alternately try the following url replace with your Obi ip address in case the menu was not available.

Then browse for where you saved the firmware and upgrade manually.
