how will people who never visit this forum know that GV is going to stop working pretty soon?
I got my Obi110 back in 2012 and have rarely visited this forum. It wasn't until 10 days ago that I noticed a thread here and found out that Google Voice was coming to an end for Obi devices.
I assume there are a lot of people like me who buy the device, come to this forum for help setting it up, and then just started using it without a second thought. There was really no need to come here anyway, since the Obi110 worked 100% during the last year.
Wont' a lot of these people be caught with their pants down one day when Google Voice suddenly stops working on their Obi?

when they can no longer dial out or stop getting calls they will find out.
This assumes that they have ignored emails from Obi and Google on the subject as well as numerous media reports on the subject.

Congratulations, it appears your Obi has worked so well that you don't need to visit the forums.
GV never officially supported the Obi, so you are not going to get an email from them, but as Dale mentioned, Obihai sent out an email on April 15th with the news.

I got an email from Obihai.
The *real* question should be:
"How do you know that you have never had amnesia?"

I fail to understand why people would have their pants down just because their OBi stopped working - unless they either live in a nudist colony or they like flashing their privates...

Like many people, I sleep in the nude, so when I wake up in the morning to take a phone call, I'm nude.....
Oh, wait, am I the only one???
