Dialing area code with local numbers, Callcentric
(1/1)
tome:
I have moved from GV to dialing out via Callcentric. I now have to dial the area code even if the number isn't long distance. Is this an Obi outbound call route issue?
My current outbound call route is:
{(Mvg1):vg1},{([1-9]x?*@@.):pp},{(<#:>):li},{911:sp2},{**0:aa},{***:aa2},{(<**1:>(Msp1)):sp1},{(<**2:>(Msp2)):sp2},{(<**8:>(Mli)):li},{(<**9:>(Mpp)):pp},{(Mpli):pli}
And my ITSP B (Callcentric) digit map is:
(*xx.|**275*x.|[3469]11|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*]@@.'@'@@.)
My previous Google Voice digit map is (was):
(1xxxxxxxxxx|<1734>[2-9]xxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*]@@.)

Add <1734>[2-9]xxxxxx to your Callcentric digitmap:
(*xx.|**275*x.|[3469]11|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1734>[2-9]xxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*]@@.'@'@@.)

Add <1734>[2-9]xxxxxx to your Callcentric digitmap:
(*xx.|**275*x.|[3469]11|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1734>[2-9]xxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*]@@.'@'@@.)
Thanks much Ianobi that worked. Can you tell me what the other portions of the digit map do? Specifically, what are these:
*xx.
**275*x.
and [^*]@@.'@'@@.
Tom
ianobi:
I don't use Callcentric, but like most providers it has some specific star codes for voice mail etc. These allow you to dial those codes:
*xx.
**275*x.
[^*]@@.'@'@@. allows you to dial in sip uri format (anything@anywhere.com). It's not much use in most digit maps unless you specifically need it.
(Mipd) allows for dialling ip addresses (123.345.12.10) from a normal telephone keypad - I'm betting not many people use it :)
To be fair to Obihai, their default digit maps are designed to match almost any format that may be needed. Mostly, this makes them more complicated than they need to be.
