Inbound SIP URI to Phonepower
(1/1)
HDFLucky:
I currently have a 2x Phonepower line, and am considering adding a voip.ms toll-free DID. I want the incoming voip.ms calls to ring my Phonepower line. For my usage pattern, this will be more cost-effective than getting the toll-free add-on from PP… if I can avoid outbound termination fees. Thus my reason for looking at sending the call to PP via SIP URI. I've searched extensively on this topic and seen at least anecdotal evidence that there are problems with Phonepower handling the incoming call.
So, my question is:
1. Has anyone had success forwarding calls to Phonepower via SIP URI?
2. If so, what is the format to send the call to Phonepower?
AuthUserName@sip.phonepower.com:5060 ?AuthUserName@sip.phonepower.com ?AuthUserName@local-ip-address ?something else ??

Can't be done, AFAIK. At least I could never find a way. I don't think it's supported by PhonePower.

Phonepower requires all calls entering their system to be not only authenticated, but the source must already be registered to a Phonepower account.
I also have a PhonePower account but I forward my other DIDs via SIP URI and iNum to my free Callcentric account. I have one SP trunk configured for PhonePower and one for Callcentric. So I only use PP for outgoing.

Do they allow INUMS?
If so, gert a free INUM and forward your sip call to the format "8835100xxxxxxxx@sip.inum.net".
I did this on Voip.Ms.

I have a feeling you are right, and it would explain my total failure so far.

Good idea - I just got me one! I'll have to test to see if they ever fixed this:
