Log out of all your GV accounts if you have more than one. Then log into only to the the one you wish to use with GV before configuring your OBi for it.
Yes, make sure you are not logged into any google account other than the one you want to use for configuring the device. It will auto detect your current sign in and use that for configuration. I found this out as soon as the new upgrade came out.
I wound up with an obi configured with the wrong google account. For me everything worked great except the wrong caller id went out and all my call logs were on the wrong google voice account. I had to create a support ticket and have Obihai reset my configuration and then revisit my page and it auto set up eveything.

I did log into Obitalk to check the device status. It didn't force any update and GV is still "connected" on SP1 and working.
BTW, there was no yellow triangle for the firmware update either. Do not recall when I did the last firmware update.

Hi Guys:
Yes, absolutely, delete your old GV service provider configuration(s), upgrade the firmware, and follow the procedure we've discussed previously to set up GV using OAUTH 2.0 authentication. This is the technology underlying Obihai's announcement yesterday, and is what Obihai and Google worked out for "official" support going forward.
This is a much more secure way to give third-party devices controlled access to your GV account.
I tested it many times during the beta cycle, and it's solid. The problems reported by a couple of users are probably due to either not cleanly removing the old GV SP configuration, or being logged into the wrong, or multiple Google accounts, or possibly hardware or network-related. As long as you follow the sequence of steps, you should be fine.
Enjoy!

Thanks all for the replies... this is really giving me fits. I've signed out of Google on both IE and Chrome, and disconnected my Google account from Chrome. I deleted my browsing history and temp files, and deleted my old Google Voice config from SP1. Unfortunately, the update to my Obi device occurred before I could delete the old config, because I didn't even know it was going to happen - there was no yellow triangle, it just suddenly said it was updating and to wait.
Currently, the status of my device in Obitalk is green (online). I do not have a config assigned to SP1, but I DO have a Callcentric config set up on SP2 for 911. The status for that is "Registered".
When I try to set up GV, I first get the "Google Voice™ Additional Terms of Service". I accept and then enter my area code for 10-digit dialing, and click "Finish Setup". Then a pop-up prompts me to connect my Google account. The main request is to "Have offline access", which I allow. It then goes to my dashboard with a status of 'Configuring'. At the top, it says "Configuration has been updated successfully." It sits at 'Configuring' for a VERY long time with the little spinning circle.
BUT... it never works. Eventually the status changes to "Service Not Configured." ??? :'(

Hey Mike, that's no good. It sounds like you are doing everything correctly.
I'd suggest deleting your OBi completely off of the OBiTALK portal and then factory-resetting your OBi box before trying this again.
Then, log onto your Google Voice account on your computer's browser and go here: https://www.google.com/voice#phones
Confirm that you see the exact two words "Your number", and not "Access number" or "Get a Voice number" on the left side of the page. Confirm that you have a working, valid forwarding phone number on the right side of the page. If not, stop and fix things.
Next, stay logged into that GV account. Press Ctrl-T to open a new browser tab. Log into the OBiTALK portal and re-add the OBi box (using the **5 device discovery procedure), and then configure your GV account as a SP.
