How do I set up OBi202 to forward calls
«

Thank you for your help. Recently my internet was down for a few hours and I couldn't get any calls. So I am wondering if I can set the OBi202 to forward calls to my cell phone when this happens. I have Callcentric for incoming calls and RingTo for the out going calls. Do I set the Obi to do this or Callcentric? Callcentric says it can do this but gives no instructions for doing it.
Again, Thanks for your help.

When your internet connection is down your OBi202 might as well be dead. Clearly the only place that any forwarding to cellular can be done is at the ITSP you use for incoming calls.

Check your dashboard on callcentric. Look for something that may be called a failover. That is how it is handled on VOIP.ms when it can't communicate with the Obi it routes the call to a failover number. Your cell phone perhaps.
Good Luck!

Log on with your Callcentric account name and password to their web portal and go to Call Treatments.
https://my.callcentric.com/call_treatments.php
Set up a call treatment to forward to your cell phone when the SIP user agent (the OBi in this case) is offline (not registered with their SIP server). See my screenshot, attached. Click "Save" at the bottom of the page to save the call treatment, and turn it on (enable it). If you have created other call treatments, click the "normalize priority" link, to sort the treatments in the proper order for processing.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have contacted Callcentric support to help me set up the failsafe number. Thanks again for your help.

Callcentric doesn't use the term "failsafe". Just follow my instructions, and it will work as you requested.

But doesn't this only set it for a certain length of time? Since I don't know when the internet might go down this doesn't look as if it would be set as a permanent forwarding option. That was why I contacted Callcentric. Yours has a set beginning time and a set ending time. I have followed your setup but used a End time for the same day at a earlier time - which if I understand it correctly would be a week later. But still this is not a permanent call forwarding option in that I would have (remember
) to come back next week and reset it again.
Maybe there is something I don't see or know about.
Thanks again.

Look carefully at the start and end times. They are essentially "all the time", whenever the SIP registration goes offline. Trust me; this is how it's done. If you don't believe me, set it up, unplug your OBi from time to time, and see what happens.

Thank you Steve.
I have set it up like you showed me. I didn't notice the exact times you had inserted. I have now set it up. Thanks again for your help. I will try it out by unpluging the Obi, a little later and have a friend call me and see if the call goes to my cell phone..
It was very simple and easy to do..
Thanks again.

Steve,
Now that I have set up the Call Treatment and turned on Call Treatments- the STATUS is 'not registered' and TMB (whatever that is) is turned off. Do you know how to register the Call Treatment and turn on TMB?
Thanks again for all your help.

Note that I didn't have to specifically enter those times -- they're populated that way by default, so that the rule has no time constraints. Note also that there are no dates shown, so it's not as if the rule only lasts one week. I suppose it would be more obvious if they had a radio button to simply grey-out the times if unneeded.
The typical use case for the time values would be to forward calls to some other number after business hours, or to make a "do not disturb" rule.
